Cathedral – Midnight – Experience.
Berjozkele Ola Bilińska
Project interprets traditional lullabies and evening songs in Yiddish. With minimalist musical means, the musicians gave new life to compositions once popular in Poland and Eastern Borderlands (pol. Kresy), giving them contemporary form. The artists use both electronic and acoustic instruments. Lyrics — sometimes anonymous, traditional, often by Yiddish poets — are the common platform for all musical works.
The band is created by singers, instrumentalists, performers who continue the singing tradition of Polish folk music. Sutari project is a fusion of their diverse, traditional and modern, music experiences and fascinations. They specialize in vocal compositions but they also use unconventional instruments like a grater, keys or a bowl with water. SAF concert promotes their new album "OSTY" (“Thistles”).
Project by Joanna Longić (vocal) and Hania Rani (piano). It is a collection of songs with original texts and music which tries to avoid classification into known genres and styles by combining acoustic sounds with ambitious electronic music. Joanna Longić first appeared on the Polish music scene with the Bemine project. Hania Rani is a pianist, winner of national and international competitions.
A band of 4 energetic women who share a mission to draw their audience into the ethereal world of sounds completed with silence. Minimalism, jazz, Scandinavian and ethnic music are the main sources of inspiration for them, while a voice accompanied by various instruments is their mean of expression. They use a whole range of vocal techniques that enable them to create a new, rich musical world.

Artist with an exceptionally distinctive timbre of voice, connected with the Nextpop label. Songwriter, whose work is inspired by Scandinavian music and allows for quieting and rest. Works together with Fismoll, Kari, Baash and others. For her debut album she was nominated for the Fryderyk award in 2015 in the Phonographic Debut of the Year category.
Their music is a tasteful combination of jazz, Polish folklore and piano improvisations. Every artist comes from a different musical world but they are connected by a shared sensitivity that allows them to find final understanding. Their music feels like a meadow transported between city streets. With four voices and 13 instruments they tell one story.
Angela Gaber + Trio 0.30
The band is a meeting of remarkably colorful and creative personalities, which results in a unique mixture of ethno sounds and alternative music. It is a totally fresh approach to music – not only – of the Borderlands. Their musical world of improvisation surprises and creates a non-repeatable quality, that can't be listened to indifferently. The last album "Dobre duchy" ("Good Spirits") was acclaimed as one of the most interesting albums of 2015. They were awarded at numerous prestigious festivals including the New Tradition – Polish Radio Festival.

We will be taken into this amazing world of sounds by Anna Wandtke – distinguished violinist (working among others with Nigel Kennedy, James Levin, Chick Corea) and known to the audience of SAF extraordinary double bass player Sebastian Wypych. Blackberry Hill presents music from the borders of Indie and Folk. They create in solitude, confronting ideas. They combine elements fitting together, lyrics with melody, music with image. They value authenticity and simplicity of melodies. Exquisite characteristics of the project are the images, closely connected with lyrics and atmosphere of the piece, constituting a bridge between the world of sound and the world of image. Their debut EP Silence Speaks For me recorded in 2013 proposes simple arrangements, coloured here and there with electronic sounds. The band’s concerts are out-of-ordinary occurrences, creating a completely new world of imagination, atmospheric place far away from commercial turmoil. At night at Experimental Stage that music will sound outstandingly! Blackberry Hill are: Małgorzata Żwikiewicz – vocals, lyrics, graphics,
Paweł Wiśniewski – guitar, piano, compositions, Marta Wierzbiańska – cello,
Piotr "Pepek" Szczepańczyk – fretless bass, Wojtek Szachnowski – percussions
BUSLAV (Tomasz Busławski) was until lately widely known only as great saxophonist, for years collaborating with many artists and projects in the country and abroad (among them Marika, Mieczysław Szcześniak, TGD, Team Horn Selection NYC, Derrick McKenzie – Jamiroquai).
From his search for his own unique means of expression a new, original project was born, which is a fusion of everything, he has fed on for years. Excellent, heart and imagination moving vocal-instrumental project, revealing everything which music should be: truth about us ourselves.
Soon the world will see the first album and meanwhile on Experimental Stage he will be accompanied by equally great instrumentalists: Paweł Bzim Zarecki on keyboard instruments and Marcin Ułan Ułanowski on drums.

Klara is a young and talented composer, instrumentalist and songwriter. She debuted with an original album Away (2012) released by Polish Radio. The producer of the material was Artur Gadowski (IRA). The artist chooses minimalism and delicate melodic lines, at the same time not trying to escape graceful refrains. So far the most important live performances were a concert in the Agnieszka Osiecka Music Studio of Polish Radio broadcasted live and performing at TOPTrendy Festival in Sopot in May 2014.
Marek Niedźwiecki has written about Klara: Delicate, cute, lyrical, phenomenal, acoustic, ephemeral, feminine. Sings about herself being a witch. I however think, she is an enchantress. She has a beautiful and real sadness in her voice, but also the joy of youth… An exceptional artist is being born on our music market.

Unique music in a unique place.
CHŁOPCY KONTRA BASIA - this type of music has never been heard at SAF
Chłopcy Kontra Basia take Polish folklore as their starting point. The authors of the texts and music reach back to frivolous songs, old ballads, patriotic songs and village sing-alongs with mythological roots. The band is very minimal-just vocals, clarinet, percussion and bass and their sound is subtle and dark, fun and shocking, somewhere between jazz and folk.
Keep this date open: July 10, midnight, Experiential Stage.
Chłopcy Kontra Basia is:
Basia Derlak - song, clarinet, mouth harp
Marcin Nenko – string bass
Tomasz Waldowski - drums, futujara, percussion
