“Wałasi” band explores what is the most beautiful in traditional music and takes their audience for an unforgettable journey through the Carpathian arc. The descendants of old families from Silesian and Żywiec Beskids, and Podhale, they show the world traditional melodies, while giving them new sound and meaning.
Rhiannon Celtic Band
Led by their passion, enthusiasm and love for Ireland and all that is green, this Wrocław-based band draws from all the riches of Celtic music and shanties. Erin go bragh!
Somewhere in their furthest musical inspirations you can hear flamenco, Irish rhythms or jazz. And all this wrapped in folk character of the musical form. Their performances are musical journeys, moods and images — thus the name of the band (Landscape). It is music that escapes the classifications, it is simply — World Music.
Music by Chudoba is a creative search for original folk themes from Beskidy region; Lemko, Hucul and Ukrainian songs; melodies from Podlasie and Rzeszów regions. There are also motives taken from Czech, Slovak, Balkan and Gypsy music. The musicians do not try to blindly imitate the folk narratives, but rather focus on the energy and atmosphere of the music.

Pixie Elf and The Tribe
A project by Jakub Musiałczyk, producer and DJ, who invited hi friends from the psytrance scene to join him. The collective represents many genres, from goa trance, through psy-prog to tribal techno. Their show is a fusion of a DJ set, live-act, improvisation and fireshow. All this with visualizations, UV lights, LED poi and hula-hoops.
Banati Crew is a collective formed in 2015 by a group of friends. Iga Suchata, a talented soloist, violin player and soprano in the Silesian Singers group. RedDread is a DJ and promoter, co-founder of the Mrockin Kids collective and the T3M4T association. Since ever, his real love have been sounds rooted deep into the Jamaican island. The result is his original cycle of events that promote the soundsystem culture “Kingston Vibe”.

Initiator and co-founder of Głogów-based DiGitaL Collective Music has always been present in his life and he is passionate about everything that just sounds good. His musical adventures began in the vinyl age and he has remained faithful to this aesthetics till today. His daily explorations take place within drum’n’bass regions so for the folk stage he has prepared a special selection that refers to folk and world traditions.

DJ Feel-X has been present on the music scene since 1995. Owner of Siła-Z-Pokoju Version Records company. In 1995, he co-founded MAD CREW. Co-founder of Baku Baku, To Jest Skład and Kaliber 44. DJ Feel-X performs at clubs as well as during various events connected with DJ club culture. He leads his own DJ and studio workshops He also deals with graphics and video productions.
A5, 17.30 – This year, all the folk stage artists have a common music denominator – they all come from Poland. They are proof of an extraordinary weave of personal fates, histories of neighbouring nations and cultures and beliefs of settled ex-pats. The message carried by their music still lives in our hearts and is truly meaningful – we are one despite being so different.
Indigenous people of west-central Poland, a fount of traditional music from around the city of Poznań. They bring back traditional Obereks, Polkas and Wiwats with violins, drum, accordion, double bass and clarinet accompanied by beautiful singing. Be careful – it's proven that after a moment of listening to their music everyone changes into a countryside dancer!
Motyla Noga 17.30
A new project of musicians from Wrocław, related with a broadly defined folk music (Chudoba, 40 synów i 30 wnuków jeżdżących na 70 oślętach, N.O.E.) They will bring back the forgotten culture of Galicia. We will hear the echoes of Jewish towns and Gypsy tabors from Poland, Ukraine and Germany.
An energetic band from south-eastern Silesia which expresses its highland temperament through the beauty of Jewish music. Dorota Herok – the leader of Klezmer Jewish dances ensemble, that cooperates with Chajim, will be leading the Jewish dance workshops and will also lead all of the participants of the concert into a spontaneous dance.
Królestwo Beskidu 17.30
The name of the band – "Kingdom of the Beskid" – metaphorically brings out the richness of the Żywiecczyzna, Ślask Cieszyński regions and in wider sense of all Carpathian Mountains. The band performs its own original songs combined with the influence of Carpathian, Slovak, Hungarian, Ukrainian and Jewish music. All the band members come from and were raised in the Beskid Mountains.

He comes from Skopje in Macedonia where he began his clubbing career playing and singing in a cover band. In Poland since 2010, he has been playing in music clubs of Wrocław as well as in other clubs and festivals all around Poland. Dj Balkan valkan promotes mainly Balkan melodies but also music from other corners of the world in blended genres (ska-rock, balkan brass, club and electronic music).
Armenian vocalist, for the last 20 years living in Poland, for many years active on ragga/hiphop scene. Until now he has released three well received albums. He’s been giving concert both in Poland and abroad (Germany, UK, Ireland). This time he is going to perform in the sound system version.
Folk Stage will be hosted by Slot Folk Orchestra led by Bartosz Bobeł (collaborating among others with Tierra, Hoverla, Alegria, CLAY, Sierra Manta, Czwarty Wymiar, Dj Jassovah, Martijn Krale (Frühstück), Piotr Płecha, Rafał Rudawski) and Friends. Members of the group have been meeting at musical feasts in festival’s Cafe Kiwi, where they have been bringing their instruments, passions and joy of being able to share them. This passion and joy has borne fruit! Since the Folk Stage can be called „the youngest child” of SAF, let’s come, let’s look after and let’s be ready to have fun together! Latino Friday - a mexican-cuban salsa tasting like chilli or such spices, as "Desperado", "La Bamba", "Guantanamera" or "Buena Vista Social Club". Saturday’s Kitchen or Chrzan + S.O.S.
Chrzan (horseradish) is a band of three young citizens of Wrocław combining folk and classical melodies, jazz rhythms and the sound of acoustic instruments like classical guitar, violin and percussions. The band has performed at international festivals and concert-rooms in the country and abroad. They performed among others in Ossolineum in Wrocław, on Ostrów Tumski, under the walls of the cathedral in Gorlitz.
