Literary Stage 8.07 – 11.07

Sensible, undying, profound, sincere, affectionate, blind, mutual? We know nothing about love. And yet nothing prevents us from loving. Invited guests will take us into spaces of different states of love, which essence can never be fully explained by words. Oh, insane are we, who try.

 

WEDNESDAY 8.07

/ Artroom / 15.00 Rafał Gawin „Love in the time of popculture and return to nature” Latest Polish poetry in the light of amorous and erotic elevations of lyrical subjects and targets. How and why is the ability to love elitarized and in usual interpersonal relations rather fades in favour of more pragmatic ways of spending time together. Rafał Gawin – poet, critic, editor and proofreader of „Arteria”, master of ceremonies and culture re-animator. He has released the „Przymiarki” (Try-ons) spreadsheet and bilingual poetic book „WYCIECZKI OSOBISTE / CODE OF CHANGE”

/ Cafe GAFA / 17.30 The Poet of Donbass – Oleksiy Chupa. Author’s meeting. Oleksiy Chupa (born 1986). Ukrainian writer and bilingual poet (Ukrainian and Russian) from Donbass. Author of two collections of poems as well as four prosaic books – „10 words of the Fatherland”, „Homeless Donbass”, „Tales of My Bomb Shelter” (2014). For a long time he has been working as an engine operator in one of the mines in Donbas, after Russian aggression he became a refugee.

/ Eastern Tent / 13:00 Literature and hospice? But how? Agnieszka Kaluga – volounteer at the Palium Hospice in Poznań, speaker, trainer, lecturer. Author of the „Zorkownia” book and blog, that has received three prizes in the 2011 Blog of the Year contest (Best Literary Blog, Main Distinction, The Bloggers’ Blog) and a child story „ChoroWitek”.

/ Artroom / 15.00 Author meeting around the book: „History of Polish literature in 20th century” by Stanisław Bereś. Stanisław Bereś – professor of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication, he also lectured at Charles de Gaulle Lille 3 University (France); editor of „TV Literary News” (Polish TV 2); juror of Nike and Angelus literary prizes; editor of National Library series.

/ Cafe GAFA / 17.30 Author’s meeting around the „Niska rozdzielczość” book by Klara Nowakowska. Klara Nowakowska published several collections of poems, incl. „Zrosty” (Adhesions, 1999), „Ulica Słowiańska” (Slavic street, 2012) and „Niska rozdzielczość” (Low resolution, 2013). Laureate of the main prize of the Jacek BErezin contest (1998) and Gazeta Wyborcza WARTO prize (2013). Nominated to Silesius Poetic Award in the Book of the Year category (2014).

 

FRIDAY 10.07

/ Eastern Tent/, 13:00, Caucasus Mountains, muslim fundamentalists, increasing power of Kremlin and most cruel terrorist attack in Europe. Author meeting for strong-nerved people. Zbyszek Pawlak – lecturer, travel, expert on the east, international consultant on intercultural communication and practician working for 20 on Middle Asia territories. Co-author of the „Broken city, Bieslan” (2014).

/ Artroom / 15:00 What are poems written with? pt. I Two days of poetry writing workshops. Led by Marcin Czerwiński. Marcin Czerwiński – chief editor of „Rita Baum” quarterly magazine and lecturer at the Polish Philology Instytute of Wrocław University, published following books: „Smutek lairyntu” (Sadness of the labyrinth) „Gnoza i literatura” (Gnosis and literature) „Motywy, wątki, interpretacje” (Motifs, themes, interpretations) (2013) and „Maszyna przecząca. O literaturze jako formie negacji w aspekcie performatywnym” (Negating machine. On literature as a form of negation in performative aspect) (2014).

/ Cafe GAFA / 17.30 „Jastrun, son of Mieczysław”. Meeting led by Tomasz Jastrun, poet and son of a poet. During the meeting Tomasz Jastrun will read poems written by his father and he will share his own memories of their home. We will abandon the textbook image of Mieczysław Jastrun to touch upon the truth about the late poet. Long live poetry! Tomasz Jastrun – a son of poets Mieczysław Jastrun and Mieczysława Buczkówna. Currently working as a columnist for „Zwierciadło”. In August 1980 he participated in a strike in Vladimir Lenin Shipyard in Gdańsk. / Cafe GAFA / 17.30 Author’s meeting around the „Konstytucja” book of Seweryn Górczak. Seweryn Górczak – born 1991 in Warsaw, poet, translator, slammer. His poetry, with diction sometimes being compared to hip-hop aesthetics and categorized as engaged lyric poetry, describing the world in a clash of everyday language with the computer or TV screen. His debut book „Konstytucja” (Constitution) was published in 2013 by efforts of the Staromiejski Dom Kultury.
