MANUAL WORKSHOPS
Sand, cardboard, paints, felt, clay, water. Underestimated materials, that can be used to create many things. Feeling of causativity and return to the pleasure of making things with own hands ? that’s the experience the manual workshops offer. SLOT is a giant DIY lab, school of creating and craft, which will help you to gain the willingness to transform reality on your own by bringing new forms into being!
- ABC ? 3D CARDBOARD LETTERS

Cardboard, one of the least appreciated materials. We will give him a second, quite nice life. Make with us a 3D letter, organizer, a mug coaster or anything that will come to your mind!

- STOP-MOTION ANIMATION

Do you want to bring your own drawn character to life? During the workshop, you can create a part of the animation, which plot we will make up together. Transparent tracing paper and drawing tools are waiting!

- FRUIT AND VEGETABLE CARVING

During the workshops, we will carve in fruits and vegetables. You will be able to choose any figure you want to make. Participants are asked to bring their own favorite fruits and vegetables ? afterwards they’ can be consummated

- SEQUIN DECORATIONS

During the workshop we will decorate Styrofoam shapes with pins and colorful sequins in order to obtain multicolored, fancy patterns. You can create a unique souvenir from SLOT Art Festival for yourself or for your loved ones.

- CERAMICS

You will be able to make a clay dish and bake it in a ceramic furnace. You will be able to decorate your own or one provided ceramic dish (a mug or a bowl) with an overglaze color. You can take your work with you!

- DREADLOCKS

An aim of the workshop is passing knowledge about dreadlocks history, wearing them, making methods and care as well as using the gained knowledge to make your own dreadlock from synthetic hair.

- Tie dye T-SHIRT DYING

Learn to tie-dye a t-shirt ? this method allows fast, easy and cheap changing of your wardrobe into colorful craziness 😉 Participants are asked to bring their own white shirt.

- FELTING

First, we will make felt elements and then we will use them to create our own, colorful jewelry.

- PHOTOGRAMS

Photograms are photographical pictures made without a camera. We will apply a greasy cream to our lips, ears, noses, hands, feet and imprint them on a photosensitive material.

- DUTCHMAN THE GAME

The ?Holender? (Dutchman) game came from Michael College in Breda, Netherlands. It?s a great way to improve concentration, aiming and hand-eye coordination ? and it gives a lot of fun!

- GRAPHIC UPCYCLING

Participants will learn three original graphic techniques based on making and using three types of printing template. As a result, we will get unique works made with copying ink.

- WOODEN HOUSES INSTALLATION

An opportunity to create wooden, painted world! You will be able to create houses, forests, cars and many more. Imagination is the only limit! At the end of the workshops, we will make a huge, common installation.

- CONSERVATION-RESTORATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

We will become art conservators. We will look for destroyed objects, clean and complete them. The Monastery and Lubiąż will turn into an archaeological works grounds!

- TAILORING

You will learn how to use a sewing machine. Same will sew a bag, others ? a pillowcase. Everyone will use the machine, learn basic stitches, accessories and sartorial techniques.
Justyna Wójcik ? graduate of TWP Wrocław tailoring course and an application course at Patchwork Wrocław. A tailor by education and passion, sewing since she was 5 years old.

- LINOCUT

We draw images on pieces of linoleum and then we cut them using chisels. In this way, we receive a template, then covered with printing ink to create many copies of the same piece of art ? a postcard.

- ENGLISH PAPER PIECING PATCHWORK

Aim: learning English Paper Piecing patchwork technique Idea? We would like to create something beautiful out of nothing. For whom? For everybody who knows which end of a needle pricks and wants to learn something new.

- PLASTER CASTS

We will make plaster casts. For that we will create plaster sculptures and using them we will make plaster forms and then plaster casts. Our works we will decorate and paint.

- Kanzashi ORIGAMI

We will travel to the fairy-tale-like world of Japan and kanzashi flowers ? an original origami technique based on creating from fabric and ribbon. Together we will make hair decoration.

- SOCIAL POSTER

The aim of this workshops is to acquaint participants with the characteristic of a social poster and to create works devoted to chosen social topics, using different manual techniques and poster-thinking.

- WHAT IS A LOGO FOR?

Acquainting with a process of creating a logo and finding an answer to the question what logo is and what role does it play in creating an image of a company or an organization. Participants will create their signs in groups and individually.

- KNITTING WITH FINGERS

- RATTAN BASKETS WEAVING

We will make little baskets with natural and dyed rattan. You are going to learn how to prepare material, different weaves, and ways to give your works an individual character. Relaxation and satisfaction guaranteed.

- WEAVING ON A CHAIN-LINK FENCE

The open-air workshop thanks to which, you will be able to join other participants of the festival to weave ?Slot Art Festival 2018? sign on a chain-link fence of one of the houses in Lubiąż! Part of garbage produced during the festival (like washed straws or clean trash bags) will be used to make letters.

- STRING-WOVEN

How to make, in an easy and cheap way, a cloche, a lampshade, a Christmas ball, a vase or a mug? This workshop consists of creating with strings, glue and dyes. Each participant go through several steps, from choosing the size and kind of an ornament, material and color to the final construction.
