SPORT WORKSHOPS

Our understanding of sport is very wide ? its a part of culture, a way to experience contact with oneself, with our body and its capabilities. It’s an occasion to be together, practice closeness with other people, experience of team spirit, adrenaline, extraordinary emotions, contact with nature ? human and parahuman. SLOT allows to see another face of sport ? energetic, focused on self-development and creative approach to challenges. Without comparison, without the pressure of the results, with happiness and introspection!

  1. AERIAL ACROBATICS ? SILKS

turn 1 & 2 / B5 / 15 people / level 1

Learn dancing on silks, a form of aerial acrobatics. An occasion to try your hand in the air, in easier and harder figures. Swinging and flying upside down you’ll leave the earth behind!

Ewa Górska ? doctoral student of the Law and Administration Department of the Jagiellonian University, she learned and co-lead aerial acrobatics classes in Palestinian Circus School.

  1. AERIAL ACROBATICS ? TRAPEZE

turn 2 / B5 / 7 people / level 2

Static trapeze ? a „circus swing” is a fixed bar hung on two ropes.. You’ll learn the possibilities of this circus gymnastics aerial acrobatics equipment thanks to a graduate of circus school, who will lead you through warm-up, safety rules and learning of basic elements performed on the trapeze.

Krzysztof Kostera ? circus actor specializing in equilibristics and gymnastics,graduate of the National Circus School in Julinek. He works as a circus actor among others in the show by ?Pożar w burdelu?.

  1. CAPOEIRA REGIONAL

turn2 / C7 alt. H2  / 20 people / level 1

Brazilian martial art connecting physical activity with culture and music. In the beginning it was a slave resistance and expression of freedom, today it is the mos beautiful martial art and most dangerous dance. Every workshop is theory and practice.

Dorian Widawski ?  activist working on the junction of culture and sociology, particularly through theatrical actions. Has been training capoeira for 10 years now.

  1. FITNESS, ZUMBA, STRETCHING

turn3 / C4 alt. H6 / 40 people / level 1

Good fun and movement is the essence of these workshops. Every workshop consists of fitness part, then we move over to zumba, and in the end we’ll be stretching.

Roksana Kałuża ? zumba instructor since 2014, dances ballroom dances. Member of the Fitness section at the Univeristy of Life Sciences.

  1. FREERUN

Do you like to move? Clim trees? Run on walls and rooftops? Or maybe play tag? Come to the FreeRun techniques workshop, and we will show you how to do it with class!

Ariel Denenfeld ? leader of the Freedom Parkour group from Oława, vice-president of the Street Workout Oława association and Trainer of a Crossfit group TKKF Centaury Oława. Merciless tormentor leading Crossfit and StreetWorkout sessions.

  1. LET’S HULA! HOOPDANCE

turn 3 / C7 alt. H2 / 10 people / level 1

If dance was never a piece of cake for you and you know hula hoop only from your childhood, maybe its time to try both at once? During this workshop we will learn the tricks first and then we will put them together in short combinations.

Patrycja Worobiej ? graduate of the HulaFit course, has been spinning hula for three years.

  1. CHESS CAFE

turn 1 / A10 / 50 people / level 1

Chess Cafe is a place, where everyone interested will have a chance to learn how to play chess or learn how to play better. At the last day of the Festival we’ll hold the SLOT Championship!

Łukasz Kłykow ? chess instructor, has been plating for 30 years. In charge of Krok po Kroku recreation room in Oława.  At 14 he won bronze medal in the Polish championship in his age group.

  1. RUBIK’S CUBE

turn 2 / F6 / 15 people / level 1

How does the Rubik’s Cube work and how to navigate in its world? The goal of the workshop is to learn how to solve the Rubik’s Cube from the basics and learning more advanced combinations and algorithms.

Jakub Czekała ? animator, juggler, has been solving Rubik’s cubes for 6 years now. His record is 16 seconds.

  1. KRAV MAGA

turn 1 / Z1 alt. D1 / 50 people / level 1

Combat system consisting of combinations of most effective techniques coming from boxing, jiu jitsu, judo, muay thai, wrestling and other martial arts, developed for the Israel Defense Forces. The workshop will begin with warm-up, techniques presentation, then will move on to exercises.

Łukasz Szulc ? has been training Krav Maga for 7 years, currently level P3. He works in IT and is a co-founder of the forest Montessori Institute.

  1. SPORT BOW

turn 3 / Z1 / 40 people / level 1

At the class we will discover the bow’s construction and use gained knowledge in practice. Our goal will be to hit the mark.

Paweł Borys ? former sportsman of Społem Łódź, for many years a scoutmaster of Polish Scouting and Guiding Association. A dad, home-schooling his children.

  1. MANZO

turn 3 / C6 / 30 people / level 1

Two teams contest on a marked grass field. The goal of the game is to break through enemy field and reach Manzo, i.e. the point furthest from the player’s field. The workshop will be explanation of rules and game!

Maksym Tylkowski ? Manzo enthusiast, plays since he was 13. By profession a renewable energy devices and systems technician. His energy is completely renewable too.

  1. UNICYCLE

turn 1 & 2 / G4 / 25 people / level 1

We’ll teach anyone to ride a unicycle. Necessary condition is naturally a wish to learn! It’s quite easy to master, after about 3?4 hours of training anyone will get the basics. People interested will be able to learn tricks, balance, jumps and balancing on rails.

Paweł Pajda ? member and founder of Monocyklove.pl Team. Rides the uni for 10 years. He feels best in trial and mountain rides. Participant of many Polish and European competitions. Leader and organizer of many workshops, shows and unicycle competitions all over Poland.

  1. MOTORCYCLE

turn 1 / Z3 / 50 people / level 1

We’ll learn to ride the motorcycle, get the basic information about its construction and riding it on our own. Please come wearing long trousers and full shoes.

Jacek Cegielski ? organizer of many motorbike jamborees, founder and first president of the Christian Motorcycle Club Boanerges and former head of the Heavy Motorcycles and Veterans Club Oldtimers in Krotoszyn.

  1. PETANQUE

turn 1 / A9 / 30 people / level 1

Petanque to is an exciting sport and a great way to relax for everyone ? from age 5 to 105, regardless of physical prowess. The workshop includes learning to play and taking part in a mini-tournament.

Maciej Żłobiński ? 2nd degree instructor of the International Petanque Federation Jeu Provençale, instructor of Polish Petanque Federation. He trained more than 2000 people in the basics of the game, including more than 40 instructors. Ho organized many tournaments, mini-tournaments, competitions and contests.

  1. SELF-DEFENSE

turn 1 / D1 / 30 people / level 1

Every class begins with a short warm-up, then we will practice individual grips and self-defense techniques. In the end a couple of minutes of stretching and calming to avoid muscle sores the next day.

Dominik Biały ? has been training self-defense and ju-jitsu for three years and muay-thai for two. Leads workshops for high school and university students.

  1. THE ART OF RELAXATION

turn 2 / D1 / 15 people / level 1

The workshop is teaching the participants the chosen relaxing techniques (incl. the Schultz’s and Jacobson’s methods and Body Scan) and basic theoretical knowledge about stress, benefits of relaxation and pro-health activities. Every meeting will begin with introduction, then the exercises. At the end we’ll talk about participant’s impressions.

Ernestyna Dalecka ? psychologist, works in the Non-Public Pedagogical and Psychological Clinic and in 40 i 4? Environmental Profilactics Club Yoga instructor.

  1. YO-YO

turn 2 / F8 / 10 people / level 1

The workshop will consist of learning tricks and playing with yo-yo, depending on the advancement level.

Maciej Cwynar ? has been playing with yo-yo for many years. He’s the current Champion of Poland and third contender in Europe.

  1. MAKE YOSELF A BOW

turn 1 / F4 / 16 people / level 2

The workshop is introduction to the world of archery, a proof that lack of equipment is not an obstacle in making first steps in this sport. We will make bows ourselves, learn the basics of how to use them and practice shooting.

Łukasz Michalczyk ? professionally an English language instructor. Bow enthusiast, has been teaching the Slotters bow-making and shooting for many years.
