9-13.07.2024Programme-Small Stage 2013
The Small (competition) Stage is a place where young, ambitions bands have the opportunity to share their music with a wide audience. Similarly to previous years, we will begin on the second day of the festival; from Wednesday to Friday (i.e. July 10-12), three bands will compete on the Small Stage each day. The audience and a panel of judges will chose the winning band, which will open on the Main Stage the following night. Every day there will be a different theme. Audience voting occurs during the last concert of a given day. On Saturday, July 13, the Small Stage concerts are not part of the competition.

Wednesday, 10 July ROCK ON ? competition
5:30pm PROJEKT X
Projekt X is no-nonsense idyll, all about an intense party. It?s Music, Truth and Honesty. It?s new sound. They constantly are searching for a style, searching for you, searching for the x-factor. Meet Projekt X and see how much you have in common.
6:15pm STRAIGHT JACK CAT
Straight Jack Cat plays an unpretentious amalgam of genres including garage, stoner, noise, punk, rock and even blues. They make intelligent noise and incorrectly collect analogous sounds which they serve to their listeners with modern embelishments.

7:00pm INSEKT
Insekt is an energetic rock trio which plays fast and loud about love. Their music is a mixture of dirty sounds and gripping melodies. After 7 years, they are back at SLOT ? if you remember them, be sure not to miss their concert!
THURSDAY, 11 July REGGAE/SKA/HIP-HOP ? competition

5:30pm BIG UP!
The band was founded by a native Jamaican, and most of the members met over the Internet. BIG UP! is not only a musical project, but a group of friends who share the same passions. Despite the lack of Jamaican blood in any of the current members, they still have a strong mental connection with that musical culture.
6:15pm SIELSKA
SielSKA is a mixture of reggae and ska with elements of dancehall. In their first year, the band played over 50 concerts. Their energetic concerts have gained them new audiences. The band is in the process of compiling their music to put out their debut record.
7:00pm SOUTH BLUNT SYSTEM
South Blint System, a band formed in Nysa in 2006, is lead by 18-year old singer, Szymon Chodyniecki. The music they make is a combo of reggae and hip-hop and is extremely popular ? one of their songs has 7.5 million hits on YouTube!

FRIDAY 12 July LADIES? DAY ? competition
5:00pm SCOFFERS
Guitar, bass and drums were most deffinitely not enough for the band SCOFFERS from Wroclaw. Only after adding the violin, saxophone and a DJ are they ready to present their unique triphop/alternative electronic sound.

6:15pm GRAWITACJA
GRAWITACJA is a mixture of electric sounds with a rock?n?roll soul. The band made its debut on the Internet in mid-August 2012 with its single ?Szczescie jest blisko? (Happiness is Near) which gained many fans among the online community. They are worth listening to live!

5:30pm BEAUTY FOR ASHES

BEAUTY FOR ASHES was formed in January 2013 in Surrey (UK) by Kornelia and Pawel (formerly of Jafia Namuel) who invited Piotr Karel (formerly of Frühstück) to join them. Additionally, Laurence and James joined the band as guests. You cannot miss their first concert in Poland!
6:15pm NOXX
NoXX is a band composed of four young musicians from Ostroda. They are together since 2010. The band has won awards at festivals in Poland, as well as giving tens of independent concerts and recording their newest EP ?Wiatr? (Wind).

7:00pm BLACK HORSE
Who would have thought that the ?Black Horse? of this year?s small stage would be a local band from Lubiaz? The band was founded in 2008 by four friends fascinated by the thrash metal sounds of the 80?s. They are certainly the hardest punch on this stage at SLOT 2013.

THE ADDITIONAL PRIZE for the best band of all on the Small Stage is a recording session, mixing and mastering of two pieces. The prize is funded by Magazine Studio and SLOT.
Previous winners of this prize include STAR GUARD MUFFIN with Kamil Bednarek, and KOFI from Opole.
