Aerial Acrobatics

turn 1 & 2 / B5 / 12 people / level 1

Do you want to take a look at the world from a different perspective? Get your head in the clouds? Workshops for everyone, regardless of level of their stretching or strength, they will allow the participants to meet the aerial world of the circus.

Marta Mądry – graduate of the Medical University in Gdańsk, for 8 years a juggler, fire-dancer, circus artist and aerial acrobat (see turn 1).

Kacper Świąder – student of the State School of Circus Art, cultural studies graduate, performer, circus animator (see turn 2).

Be like Lewy

turn 1 / C3 / 16 people / level 2

Football workshop for children: by and girls of ages 7–10. It’s aim is to get them interested, get them moving and get them tired. During the workshop the exercises with cones, plates and markers will be incorporated in playground games.

Piotr Pomozow – football school trainer in Łódź, pedagogics with physical and health education graduate and graduate of the UEFA C football trainer’s course.

Capoeira regional

turn 2 / C4 / 40 people / level 1

Brazilian martial arts combining physical, cultural and musical elements. At first it expressed the cultural individuality of Brazilian slaves and was a method of disobedience, with time it became an art in itself. It distinguishes itself by its dynamism, fluidity and agility.

Dorian Widawski – high school and New Theatrical Practices Laboratory graduate. Systematically trains capoeira for 9 years now.

Krav Maga

turn 2 / C6 / 30 people / level 1

In Hebrew Krav Maga means „close contact fighting”. It’s the combination of the most effective techniques of aikido, judo, wrestling and other martial arts. The workshops will present some history, some theory, but mainly it will focus on practicing the technique.

Łukasz Szulc – practitioner of KM for 7 years, achieved the P3 rank, creator of the Montessori Forest Kindergarten and member of the council of STARTER Business Incubator in Gdańsk.

Le Parkour

turn 1 & 2 / D7 / 30 people / level 1

The workshops will take a form of a le parkour and freerun sport training. You will learn what the philosophy of le parkour is, learn the basic techniques of effectively getting over obstacles, learn how to prepare yourself for the training and ways of further developing your skills.

  1. Gwóźdź, T. Kowalski, T. Sinkowski, M. Sokołowski, P. Szewczyk – all of them related with the Freedom group and Slot, they conduct workshops for many years.

Sport bow

turn 1 / Z1 / 50 people / level 1

Come shoot some! During the workshop we will get acquainted with the bow construction and the mechanics of archery and we will learn or perfect shooting at the target. Basic idea of the class is to have fun shooting!

Paweł Borys – former sportsman of Społem Łódź, for many years a scoutmaster of Polish Scouting and Guiding Association.

Manzo

turn 2 / C4 / 30 people / level 1

Two teams contest on a marked grass field. The goal of the game is to break through enemy field and reach Manzo, i.e. the point furthest from the player’s field. All that’s needed is sports clothing and wish to have fun!

Maksym Tylkowski – professional school graduate, a Slot volunteer for many years, Manzo enthusiast.

Unicycle or the first pedaling

turn 1 & 2 / G4 / 22 people / level 1

We’ll teach anyone to ride a unicycle! Necessary condition is a wish to learn and not being deterred by first failed attempts. After about 3–4 hours of training anyone can get the basics, there won’t be any greater injuries than scratched ankles or a bruised knee.

Paweł Pajda – member and founder of Monocyklove.pl Team. Rides the uni for years. Participant of many competitions, leads and organizes unicycling workshops, shows and competitions.

Motorcycle

turn 3 / Z3 / 30 people / level 1

Engine operation basics and learning how to ride a motorcycle. „Wind in the hair” guaranteed as well as unforgettable experiences and a taste of the motorcycle world. Because of the type of the workshop, please come wearing long trousers and full shoes.

Jacek Cegielski – founder and first president of the BOANERGES, co-founder and former head of the OLDTIMERS in Krotoszyn, organizer of many motorbike jamborees.

Slackline

turn 3 / C7 / 20 people / level 1 i 2

Workshops for everyone interested to try their skills at walking the stretched tape. We will exercise and try until we drop at two tapes: for the beginners and advanced slackers.

Adam Gawron – programmer, engineer, leads and organizes juggling workshops at Kraków Slot Days, Grojkon Convention and also at city carnivals in Żory and around Katowice.

Hula Hoop dance

turn 1 / B6, alt. G3 / 15 people / level 1

The participants will learn the most popular moves and tricks and will be encouraged to create their own sequences. The practice will focus on two key elements: the technique and the „flow” and will be a prompt to work with your own body. Workshops for adults!

Anita Sparzyńska – for 3 years dances with hula, leads workshops in Kraków. Graduate of the IrishHoopers course in Dublin.

Chess

turn 2 / A10 / 50 people / level 1

Workshops in a form of a chess café – anyone can come in and learn to play or to play better. At any moment the host is available for an additional game or training. On the last day: the chess championship of Slot.

Łukasz Kłykow – pedagogue taking care of Krok Po Kroku Foundation club-room in Oława, chess instructor, bronze medalist of Polish Juniors’ Championship.

Yo-yo

turn 3 / G4 / 10 people / level 1

Yo-yo is one of the most popular toys that can be found both in a school corridor and on a tournament. We will learn various evolutions and ways of using yo-yo depending on the advancement level of the workshop’s participants.

Maciej Cwynar – plays with yo-yo for many years now, current Polish Champion, holds third position in Europe.

Make yoself a bow

turn 2 / F5 / 18 people / level 1

Making your own equipment and learning to shoot. The workshop is cyclical – we work with one group for the whole festival, as making of the bow is time-consuming. Besides that that we create arrows, targets. At last – we practice!

Łukasz Michalczyk – archery enthusiast and practitioner, once again with workshops at SLOT. He works with children, adults and youth.
